Pest control - we just can't get by without it.


Bugs really do rule the world in shear numbers and varieties. Let's face it, no home is free from pests. All we can do is control their attempt to live in our houses.


The most common pests we usually see or have in our homes are ants, cockroaches, mosquitoes and rodents. Other insects may be bed bugs, fleas, ticks and more. These insects are very hard to get rid of and they often pose a threat to our health and to that of our families.


Usually, home pest infestations are not as extensive as you'd see in a barn or large building. That's because your house is smaller giving pests less room to roam. The exception to that is an older house that has been around for some years. Old houses are very nice candidates for home pest control problems because the pests may have already settled in and made themselves at home.


Solutions To The Problem


There are many solutions to your home pest control crises. Some are humane solutions that only scare away the rodents or other animals that bother you while others poison them to get rid of them permanently. These drastic solutions are usually employed when there are just too many bugs causing too much trouble already.

Several solutions include sound emitting devices that scare away mammals like mice or rats. Other devices mimic the pests' natural predators to scare them away. The idea of these humane devices is to scare away the pests but not harm them.


Other humane solutions are scent mixtures that bother the insects or other animals that might venture into to your yard. There are also barriers or fences that block the way into your home and hoses that squirt water into the animal when they pass your property line.


For insect home pest control problems sticky paper and sprays. Foggers can also be used to get rid of fleas, ticks and chiggers that may have entered your home. Ant baits and cockroach baits can be used for these pesky insects while home pest control solutions for termites and some cockroaches are chalk and liquid insecticide.


Lights for flies and other flying insects like mosquitoes can be used for your outdoor dining area or porch to get rid of them. These home pest control light solutions are very handy and many can also be used decoratively. These lights attract most flying insects and zap with electricity them when they touch the device.


Insecticides need to be handled with care because these can be fatal for people, children and pets. Do not store these home pest control solutions in places where children and pets can get to them.


No matter which type of pest you're trying to get rid of, there's a solution to your problem. Some people like to start with the simplest and most environmentally friendly way first. Others just want to do whatever is necessary to rid themselves of all those pesty creatures.
